Seissiger with
Modernhunter SIM.

Here is how to run a SIM-lock-free Seissiger Special-Cam with the Modernhunter SIM card – so that all your captures arrive in your Modernhunter account automatically. This guide applies to the standard version, not to the Supersim edition.

How it works

Settings – via SD card.

With the standard version, you do not enter the mobile and sending settings into the camera by hand. Instead, you create a configuration file on your PC using the Windows program WirelessPlus 0.5 and load it into the camera via an SD card.

The most important values – APN and network parameters – are already correctly preset in our sample file. You only add your personal Modernhunter receiving address.

This guide applies to the SIM-lock-free Seissiger Special-Cam (standard version). If you use the Supersim edition, the connection works differently – see Seissiger cameras with Supersim.

an SD card and a card reader
a Windows PC
a Modernhunter account

Modernhunter app or portal

Generate address.

You enter this address as the recipient in Part 2.

Open the Modernhunter app or the Modernhunter portal.
Go to Cameras and tap the plus icon.
Select Standard camera and complete the setup to the end.
Note down or copy the individual email address shown at the end – it is the recipient for your captures.

WirelessPlus 0.5 (Windows)

Save configuration.

You will find the program and the sample file in the download above.

Download and open the Windows program WirelessPlus 0.5.
Click Load at the bottom left and load the sample file Seissiger_Modernhunter-Config.cfg. The APN and network parameters are already correctly preset in it.
Switch to the Recipients section and, in the Email 1 field, enter the Modernhunter address you generated earlier.
Click Save as, choose MMSCFG.BIN as the file type and save the file directly to the SD card.

Only adjust the recipient address

All other values (APN, SMTP, sender) are already stored in the sample file. You only need to enter your personal Modernhunter address under Email 1.

Seissiger Special-Cam

Setup from SD.

Standard version – switch to SETUP.

Insert the SD card into your Seissiger Special-Cam (standard version).
Set the camera switch to SETUP.
Open the menu and select 2G or LTE.
Select Setup von SD and confirm – the camera now automatically applies all settings.

The configuration file already presets these values. If, in exceptional cases, they have to be entered by hand, the following data applies:

Only to the Modernhunter server

The Modernhunter SIM card sends exclusively to the Modernhunter server. As the recipient, therefore always enter the address generated in Modernhunter – not a private or external address.

After the setup

Test once – then it runs.

With this short test procedure you make sure that your Seissiger captures arrive reliably via the Modernhunter SIM.

If nothing arrives – check

Is the Modernhunter SIM inserted correctly and are the antennas fitted?
Was exactly the address generated in Modernhunter entered under Email 1?
Was the file saved as MMSCFG.BIN and loaded via Setup von SD?
Are there any captures on the SD card at all? If not, the SD card is often the problem and should be replaced.
Does the camera have mobile reception at its location?

Switch the camera to operating mode and trigger a test capture.
Wait a moment until the camera has transferred the image.
Check in the Modernhunter system whether the capture has arrived.
If nothing arrives, work through the points in the checklist – especially the exact spelling of the recipient address.

Done

Connected – as usual.

Your Seissiger Special-Cam (standard version) is now connected to your Modernhunter account. From now on, the camera automatically sends all captures via the Modernhunter SIM card to the stored recipient address – the captures appear directly in your Modernhunter account, together with those of your other cameras.
